On July 16, Proton delivered a unit of the X70 SUV to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the National Palace in Kuala Lumpur. The X70 variant that was presented to the King was a X70 Premium 2WD with a Snow White exterior. The news was shared by the company through a post on its official Facebook page.
According to Proton, the short presentation ceremony was officiated by Proton chairman Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar, who was accompanied by several senior management staff from the national carmaker. Sultan Abdullah took a closer look at the SUV and was briefed on the vehicle by the Proton personnel.
The X70 has been performing exceptionally well for the automaker since its introduction in December last year, with 15,175 units having been sold in the first half of 2019. The SUV has made a significant contribution to Proton’s overall sales figures, accounting for 40%, 53% and 49% of the company’s total sales from January to February.
Four variants of the X70 are available, a Standard 2WD, an Executive 2WD, an Executive AWD and a range-topping Premium 2WD. The C-segment SUV is still sold as a fully-imported CBU model from Chin, but local CKD production starts later this year, which will increase capacity and delivery rates.

this is not a Proton. this car is a re badge Chinese Geely car that is not even approved to be exported to Europe or USA. what no one understand that this is nothing that one can be proud of.
It doesn’t get approve because they scared that it will give a strong competition to the eu or us brands. Not to mention that they already have volvo (owned by geely) in those market and also bad political relationship with china
