Rimac C_Two electric hypercar to debut in September

The Rimac C_Two all-electric hypercar is set to make its world debut at the distinguished Salon Privé event in September, ahead of its scheduled delivery which will commence early next year. Prototypes are already being made, although production of the C_Two is limited to just 150 units worldwide.

The C_Two is designed and produced in-house by the Croatian automaker, featuring a full carbon-fibre monocoque with bonded carbon roof, integrated battery pack and an electric powertrain that makes 1.4 megawatt of power (that’s 1,914 hp and 2,300 Nm of torque) with “exceptional thermal management.”

Despite the kerb weight of 1,950 kg, the C_Two does the century sprint in 1.97 seconds (1.85 seconds for the 0-60 mph run), while the 0-300 km/h sprint takes just 11.8 seconds to accomplish. This is made possible by the next-generation R-AWTV (Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring) and bespoke tyres. Then there’s the claimed top speed, which is 412 km/h.

There’s four permanent-magnet electric motors driving each individual wheel, and a pair of independent single-speed gearboxes provide drive to the front wheels, while the rear gets a pair of independent two-speed gearboxes.

The car’s battery pack is a lithium manganese nickel unit offering 120 kWh of energy. Rimac says it’s good enough for two full laps around the Nürburgring at full power with a negligible drop in performance. With a three-phase 22 kW on-board charger, the C_Two can be juiced up to around 80% in less than 30 minutes via a 250 kW DC combo fast charging.

Apparently, the C_Two is ready for Level 4 autonomous driving, complete with hardware which support it – eight on-board cameras (including a front stereo vision unit), a lidar sensor, six radar emitters and a dozen ultrasonic sensors.

Company founder and CEO, Mate Rimac said: “We are very excited to be back at Salon Privé, celebrating automotive history and bringing a taste of the future. 2012, when Rimac Concept_One – the world’s first all-electric supercar made its debut at Salon Privé, seems light years away. This time around, we will join with our new generation, the Rimac C_Two – the fastest accelerating, most exciting, and most technologically-advanced hypercar ever-built.”

Meanwhile, Rimac has recently begin developing full technology solutions for other prominent car brands such as Aston Martin, Automobili Pininfarina, Koenigsegg, and Porsche. To that end, Porsche and Hyundai have also become minority shareholders, the latter which will bear fruit to a brand new Hyundai-badged midship sports car and high-performance FCEV.

Rimac automobili are a fraud, they are saying they make everything themselves in-house, but for example they are buying electric motors from am racing, and then sell them as theirs. Also, Ivan Rimac (his father) who gave the starting capital, was the president of the supervisory board of Rimac automobili is a known criminal that has been wanted by the Interpol for tax evasion in Germany, and has been in jail in Serbia and Croatia, fory many other cases, and has been a part of devastating Croatia in colaboration with some of most prominent Croatian politicians. Fun fact, Mate Rimac announced they are making electric yachts, and on TV interview he said he is building a flying car.
