The new Peugeot 3008 THP Plus and 5008 THP Plus have been officially launched in Malaysia today, with Nasim offering two variants – Active and Allure – for each SUV. Both models are now locally assembled as opposed to being fully imported in the past, with assembly taking place at the Naza Automotive Manufacturing (NAM) facility in Gurun, a joint venture between the Naza Group and PSA Group.
Of the two Peugeot SUVs, the 3008 is for those who are looking for a five-seater, while those who require seven seats should consider the 5008 instead. An interesting thing to note is the CKD 3008 is actually based on the 4008 sold in China, with both sharing an almost identical design, save for the difference in dimensions. Where the previous CBU 3008 measured 4,447 mm long, 1,841 mm wide, 1,624 mm tall and had a 2,675 mm wheelbase, the CKD, 4008-based 3008 is 4,510 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, 1,662 mm tall and has a 2,730 mm wheelbase.
There’s only one engine option for the 3008 and 5008, which is a 1.6 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 165 hp (167 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque from 1,400 rpm. The THP (Turbo High Pressure) mill drives the front wheels through a six-speed Quickshift automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Also included is the Advanced Grip Control with five selectable modes – Normal, ESP off, Snow, Mud and Sand.
Performance-wise, both SUVs will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 km/h. The rated combined fuel consumption is also identical across the board at seven litres per 100 km, as per NEDC regulations.
The exterior equipment on both SUVs are identical, as the base Active variant comes with automatic halogen headlamps with LED sequential indicators, LED “claw effect” taillights, front and rear fog lamps, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. The 3008 gets 18-inch “Detroit” alloy wheels, while the 5008 is fitted with 18-inch “Los Angeles” alloy wheels (both with 225/55 series tyres).
Meanwhile, the interior features the Peugeot i-Cockpit, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter comes with Apple CarPlay support, a navigation function, and is linked to an Arkamys 3D sound system.
Other items include a dual-zone climate control system with rear vents, keyless entry and start, black “Claudio” leather upholstery, powered front seats (eight-way driver with memory function and six-way passenger), and cruise control with speed limiter.
Standard safety and driver assistance systems on the 3008 Active are six airbags, hill descent control, hill start assist, an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), ABS, EBD, brake assist, Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), a tyre pressure monitor and Isofix child seat anchors on the outer rear seats.
The Allure variant adds on things like full-LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps, front parking sensors, a powered panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and a hands-free powered tailgate.
The range-topping variants also now come with active lane keeping assist, driver attention alert, speed limit information system and a blind spot monitor, on top of a navigation function for the infotainment system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Lastly, let’s talk pricing. The 3008 Active retails at RM150,888 on-the-road without insurance, while the Allure costs more at RM163,888. Meanwhile, the 5008 in Active guise is RM166,888, with the Allure selling at RM179,888. These prices are inclusive of a five-year/120,000-km warranty, three-year free service package, 24-hour Peugeot Assistance and complimentary access to Subang Skypark’s SkyLounge.
Both models can be ordered in a choice of Nera Black, Pearl White, Amazonite Grey and Aster Grey, although the 3008 has its own exclusive colour, Metallic Copper, while the 5008 gets an additional Emerald Crystal finish.

Those Early CBU buyers has been cheated by Naza after seeing the title: “To those who just bought an average SUV… We apologize. The best has arrived” with Euro Car Of the Year 2017 and Kosong Specs
But now still same, this CKD model is still an AVERAGE SUV with no AEB and 360 Camera.
Being a marketing expert in auto industry here, to enjoy success yg gempak. Peugeot just needed Guaranteed Future Value & Guaranteed Service Cost scheme. i show you how to do it…
CBU (2017/18):
3008 in Active retails at RM142,888

CBU cheaper than CKD and better quality yet with lower prices. Naza digging its own grave….
Peugeot should just take the Panoramic Sunroof away and replace it with Auto Emergency Braking. Malaysia very hot okay…. still need to burn our interior with heat ahh??
All the spec upgrades but still no AEB ???!?
Why is the ckd more expensive than cbu?? Makes zero sense
I have already warned, excise duty increase will be felt by ALL. KIA was just the start, now it is going to Peugeot, many more will soon see price increases.
Prices goes up despite CKD??
abit dated already the car…people would rather buy x70 or cx5…or wait for x50
buy in 1 year for 40k, 2 years people will pay you to buy..lol
1 year already, mudah got 40k? 80k also don’t have
10 years on, still the same THP engine, shameless
Absolutely agreed. Even BMW/Mini has ditched this engine years ago
Why on earth would you anyone part with cash to buy a french car in Malaysia lah? Use your damn brains lah, baik beli china SUV.
Always heard that their reliability is rated bottom, is it still that bad? Any improvement in their current products?
Pricing is ridiculous for a local assembly. Buy this car if you think with your heart.
Peugeot CKD had a bad reputation in quality.
still produces less horsepower than a civic turbo despite it is 100cc larger.
I bet you in 5 months of ownership u’ll call PLUSronda towing to tow you to nearest exit..no reliability at all..better drive Haval SUV…
who going to buy this CKD whereas it is expensive than the previous CBU.
I believe this is the 1st model in Malaysia where CKD is expensive than CBU. Cheers…
cbu cheaper than ckd…bye bye naza
naza under declared Excise duties alwiz…bye
Funny right? CKD, add a plus word and selling more expensive then the CBU unit….My opinion is that they might not get tax incentive as they do not have enough local part. Further more, some say that Gurun plant do not have capability and capacity to CKD assembly the car, it is only put on bumper, seat, battery, wheel and tyre. Hence, they might not get full CKD incentive and forex has make the car more expensive now!
later CKD X70 will be from 105k – 128k lolzzz
its 2020 already.. yup X70 CKD now is RM128K lol
Personally, I dont see any problem with this model, anytime look much better than the rest of the other SUV, that includes the so famous X70..really like the design, and the specs, my next SUV will be this, ordering soon (personally own another Peugeot which so far has no issues, as long as you do the maintenance on time and fix all the wear and tear issues before it become major problems). Just saying…no ill intention intended ^^ happy driving !!!
Charging so much more than CBU…..Nasim must be money-crazy-grabbing…
If not mistaken, this CKD came with almost full features compared to the CBU version hence it is pricier. I have followed this model since its launch (because I am really interested with it but because it lack some safety features hence I have waited it till now). ^^
I read that the dimension is bigger follow 4008 China for 3008 version.
The 4008-based wheelbase is now 7 cm longer than CRV’s.. wonder how it translates to actual rear leg room. From pics ..looks like as spacious as CRV’s.
Firstly, I would opt for a 12″ screen on the roof over the sun-roof.
Secondly, the 3008 Allure’s price is about the same as the VW Tiguan Hi-line’s. I’d rather go with the Tiguan.
Thirdly, I think the all-new 3008 and 5008 may just be on their way with the fang-like DRL on the bumper just like the 508 and 208. Or, might be better to wait a little longer to get those.
Thanks.
Like all new features on 5008 except why they change the 3 single seats for middle row to common midfle row seat ♂️
