A series of Youtube videos showing a group of Singaporean motorcyclists performing stunts on Malaysian highways has gotten the attention of social media users. In the videos, focusing on a group calling themselves “Kapchai Singa”, riders are seen riding above the highway speed limit and pulling off the notorious “Superman” riding position.
In an article by The Straits Times, screencaps show a group of Singapore plate motorcycles being ridden in a reckless manner. No identities or plate numbers were concealed in the videos, which at the time of publication remains accessible to the public.
Riding a motorcycle in the prone position on Malaysian roads attracts a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000, and a five year jail term. The offence falls under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 covering reckless or dangerous driving.
Approached for comment by The Straits Times, a Malaysian police representative said they are aware of the group’s action and the matter has been forwarded to intelligence department for further action. However, the unnamed rider in the video remains unapologetic for the group’s behaviour on the highway.
“Safety wise, it remains a concern as we know it is illegal and endangers other road users. But it depends on the traffic condition, of course,” said the rider. “We only do it on clear roads in Malaysia,” he said.
A Malaysian export. Wonderful.
First time seeing Sg rempit
Lee Hsien Loong’s germen send our dadah traffickers to the gallows.OK.No issue.
But their Superman terrorise our roads .Our loved ones may kena,n be half dead oku or dead.
Is it too much if our courts sentence these Sinkie bastards to 10-15 years jail? And confiscate their bikes?
Cannot. Because Malaysian like to feed kera di hutan, anak sendiri _____________.
We always find faults of foreigners but never haul in Malaysian recalcitrant bikers especially the big bikers who race on Gimbak – Karak highway and have the audacity to post their so called “feats” on You tube!
Otak Kurang Upaya braincells deficiency syndrome spread across the causeway
Bloody Singaporeans are ever ready to break rules in Singapore. Try doing so in Singapore. Fine them and ban them from driving in Malaysia.
Danger! Singapore superman and friends are here. Can malaysian supermens keep up?
Possible qualifiers for Darwin Awards. Just one step away.
Some M’sia, S’pore youngsters & even all over the world – feel the need for speed. Our modern world systems & offerings have conditioned them to such mentality + lifestyle. I don’t condone their practices, but all governments should provide venues for their pent-up urges, instead of punishing them. With such venues provided, if they still speed on public roads – the bikes must be seized permanently & the speedsters jailed.
of course they do it in malaysia, because obviously they can’t do it in their own country.
Still want to learn from our neighbor down south? 1st world infrastructure, 3rd world mentality.
These Singaporeans are merely a tip of the icebergs. Sometimes js because it’s online it gets most publicity .look at our own Malaysians, take for instance the LPT- karak towards kuantan . Last weekend there were loads of rempits doing superman stunts. Both sides of the motorway. Sadly this isn’t an unusual occurrence but a well organised syndicate which tends to gather hundreds of bikers, from a fixed start and end point .with prizes at the end of those races , god knows how the winning riders are assessed but they always pose a menace to regular road users, with their daring Stunts and brainless bravery speeding across and in between traffic . We worry if any accidents were to happen, these rempits will gang up and hurt us, likely this will be viralled too and become a blown up racial issue. Hope pdrm and highway authorities will look into this seriously – perhaps too best to charge motorbikers at the highway , similar to car charges too. Anthony loke, best you take regular rides in the afternoons on Sundays at the lpt and experience this yourself. Those residing in the west coast will never have the chance to experience this ‘wild wild west’ unbecoming norm which sadly , the needed authorities are not taking any action bout it … Wonder if there are other elements behind it…
“We only do it on clear roads in Malaysia,” he said.
Why he does not do it on “clear roads in Singapore” ?
Singapore got roads lol?
I think best to design motors that suit this kind of riding style.
A tricycle, style Batman?
HEY? DID YOU GUY NOTICED HOW FAT IS that SuperMan ?
OH MY GOD! I pity that poor motorcycle overload of fat.
Fat people doing Superman on 2 strokes is the summum of modernity ! Boleh KFC!!!
While on Malaysian road, they do as the Malaysians kapchai riders do. No?
… 2×5 jer ngan budak mleisya…
it may not be Singaporean cos Malaysian holding work permit ride Singapore motorcycle plates.
Could it be Malaysians working in Singapore who are using Singapore bikes?
Ride motorcycle to Malaysia, travel hearse back home.
That’s funny. There are many Malaysian car reviewers who show is how ‘capable’ the car is by speeding at PLUS showing their dashboard meter, Even their ACC set above the speed limit. But those don’t get fine? Especially those YouTubers who travel to KL to JB fairly often.
Call them singapore REMPITS, not bikers
