It’s Wednesday, which means it is time for the weekly fuel price update in Malaysia. The finance ministry has announced the retail prices of fuels for the coming week of August 22 to 28, 2024, and there comes another price adjustment for diesel fuel in Peninsular Malaysia.
The coming week sees another drop in the price of diesel, with the price of Euro 5 B10 and B20 diesel blends down two sen to RM3.23 per litre, from last week’s rate of RM3.25 per litre, itself reduced from the RM3.35 per litre rate since June 10 with the start of the subsidy rationalisation programme for diesel in Peninsular Malaysia.
The Euro 5 B7 blend therefore remains 20 sen above that, which will make it RM3.43 per litre. Retail prices of diesel in East Malaysia remain unchanged, at RM2.15 per litre and RM2.35 per litre, respectively. Meanwhile no change has been recorded for petrol prices, with RON 97 petrol staying at RM3.47 per litre, and RON 95 at its present ceiling price of RM2.05 per litre.
These fuel prices will take effect from midnight tonight until Wednesday, August 28, 2024, when the next set of fuel price updates will be announced. This is the 34th edition of the weekly fuel pricing format for this year, and the 293rd in total since the format’s introduction at the start of 2019.

At this rate, diesel will be back to RM2.15 per litre by 2026 – just in time for the election…
Delightful to see massage chairs price drops getting cheaper
As usual as above. Anwar & Pizi sila jawab!
July ’24 diesel car sales tick up, just like previous PM says:”Rakyat menderita”.
Maybe he mean the smugglers and himself. This is fact like he sticked onto his words.
Soon we’ll see those hooligan pickups back on the roads.
biggest problem is. those item or goods that already increase price will never go down the price. even the diesel drops 1 ringgit.
Why RON97 price cannot go down like diesel has? Not like there’s a lot of demand for it also.
Why do they still need to announce diesel price? isn’t it free floating now? let the petrol station decide how much they wanna sell.
