Pengurusan Air Selangor (Air Selangor) has said works are ongoing to repair a burst pipe at a slip road in Jalan Sultan Ismail. As reported by The Star, the concessionaire revealed yesterday (September 23, 2024) that the repairs were expected to completed within 24 hours, depending on the weather.
It also denied claims that a sinkhole had formed along the road, which many speculated to be the case when a video circulated on social media showed water runoff filling up what appeared to be a pothole causing the road to subside. The area was closed off to traffic, with Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel present on site.
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), through a spokesperson, also refuted claims of a sinkhole and said a burst pipe was the cause of the incident.
