MINI will unveil two all-electric John Cooper Works (JCW) models at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, which is set to take place next week. Though the carmaker is not providing much in the way of details, it is expected that the JCW models will be based on the latest Cooper and Aceman.
The former, which will reportedly be called the MINI John Cooper Works E, was previewed in prototype form earlier this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Meanwhile, we were made aware of the Aceman JCW thanks to China’s ministry of industry and information technology (MIIT).
The MIIT revealed early details and images of the JCW models sometime in September, with both said to be front-wheel drive and getting a power bump to 259 PS (255 hp) from 218 PS (215 hp). Some sporty visual touches will set these performance EVs apart from their standard counterparts.
The electric Cooper and Aceman are produced in China as part of BMW Group’s (which owns MINI) joint venture with Great Wall Motor (GWM).
