The F65-generation MINI Cooper S 5-Door has been previewed in Malaysia, alongside the local launch of the MINI Aceman SE electric crossover. The F65-generation model made its world debut in June this year, and is an extensive revision of the F55-generation internal combustion-engined model.
Estimated pricing for the Cooper S 5-Door is from RM293,000, with the additional MINI Extended Warranty and Service Package estimated to be another RM10,400 for a total of RM303,400, according to BMW Group Malaysia.
Powertrain for the MINI Cooper S 5-Door is the manufacturer’s 2.0 litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder petrol engine rated to produce 204 PS and 300 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This enables a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h.
Standard equipment in the F65 Cooper S 5-Door include 18-inch ‘Slide Spoke’ two-tone alloy wheels, headlamps with high beam assistance, contrasting roof and mirror cover finish, and LED tail lamps with three selectable light signatures.
Inside, the Cooper S 5-Door gets Vescin vegan leather seat upholstery with perforated houndstooth patterns and contrasting blue textile inserts, while its dashboard and door interior trim get a two-tone knit fabric made from recycled polyester.
Interior equipment in the F65 Cooper S 5-Door also includes a 9.4-inch diameter OLED touchscreen powered by MINI Operating System 9, which brings the MINI Experience Modes Also included are comfort access, interior and exterior mirror package, and selectable driving modes, along with anti-dazzle interior rear view mirror and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Safety and assistance systems in the F65 Cooper S 5-Door consist of lane change and lane departure warning, front collision warning, rear cross-traffic warning, active cruise control with stop-and-go, lane control assistant, speed limit assist, parking assistant plus and reversing assistant as well as Remote 3D View.
