Malaysian motorcycle riders, the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) wants your thoughts on motorcycle safety technology systems and the Malaysia Motorcycle Assessment Program (MyMAP). The survey form can be found here and is open to Malaysian citizens or permanent residents who ride a motorcycle.
The survey seeks responses to riders’ perception and awareness on motorcycle safety systems such as ABS, traction control, stability control and the like. Additionally, the survey gauges awareness on the MyMAP rating system.
The survey is estimated to take between 10 to 25 minutes, and is available in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Any enquiries regarding the survey can be directed to MIROS and a a token will be handed out to the first 300 respondents.
Maybe have an automatically red light detection where data can be sent back to the police or better yet the public detailing the said motorcyclist have broke the law by cutting the red light how many times in a day?
The survey is incomplete. They should also ask on causes of accidents. I would say
1. no common sense
2. impatient
3. motorcyclist is a superman
4. malaysian roads are Sepang track
5. every rider’s dream is to become Rossi the Doctor.
6. white dotted line is a motorcycle lane
7. signal/indicator is an unwanted accessories
8. yellow on traffic light means go faster
9. pedestrian walkway is a parking bay for motorcyclist
10. what else?….
Where is the enforcement failure? Not fair
Actually, both same..riders and drivers are no big diff.
What survey? The Federal Highway that supposed to be bike-free also full of bikes. No enforcement whatsoever. What’s that bike lane for?
try riding on the bike lane on federal.
Try drive at Federal.
Other people can use the bike lane. What makes you so special that you cannot use?
Ride first and u will know why we dont use motorcycle lane.
manufacturers charge a premium for safety features… even without safety features, every year increase price with just paint colour change.
“bike safety equipment and MYMAP rating” – what for ??? more laws for talking and 000 enforcement ??? so many malaysian bikers not only dont value their own lives, they put others’ lives in danger too with their reckless riding style and samseng tactic like illegal, irresponsible high speed lane-splitting, sudden cut in front of other vehicles etc etc – these apply to both kapcai AND superbike riders !!! many kapcai riders behave like mat rempit and superbikers think they own the roads, if you honk them when they caused a risk, they will swear at you and threaten you with violence. what malaysian riders need are education, education, education and so do the malaysian traffic police, plz, enforce the laws.
