Vehicle inspection services provided Puspakom has confirmed that two of its staff from its Wangsa Maju branch have been summoned to provide statements to the road transport department (JPJ), the New Straits Times reports. This comes after JPJ carried out surprise checks on Puspakom centres nationwide yesterday.
In a statement issued last night, Puspakom CEO Mahmood Razak Bahman said the two staff members were scheduled to give their statements to JPJ’s enforcement department today. He did not however provide further details on why the Puspakom personnel were being required to give statements.
Mahmood also confirmed that a vehicle inspected at the Wangsa Maju branch had been seized by JPJ for utilising a foreign driver without a valid driving licence.
During Op Mengejut Puspakom, which was carried out yesterday without prior notice given to Puspakom, JPJ personnel inspected 115 lorries, issued 69 summonses and took action against 29 vehicles, also seizing five cars and two lorries in the process, according to a Bernama report. Several offences by lorry drivers were identified, including the use of unsafe, worn-out retreaded tyres
Mahmood said that full cooperation would be given to JPJ. “Puspakom emphasises that the involved staff will not be protected from any internal disciplinary action if wrongdoing is proven. To ensure the integrity of Puspakom inspections, the company will not hesitate to take appropriate action against the staff involved as outlined under the terms and conditions of their employment contract, including suspension or dismissal,” he said.
He added that Puspakom welcomed enforcement actions at its branches, aimed at ensuring that inspection operations are carried out according to the established standard operating procedures.
“Puspakom is always committed to ensuring that all vehicles inspected meet the required safety standards. This surprise inspection is part of the RTD’s ongoing efforts to ensure safety and compliance with road vehicle laws. We fully support this initiative to ensure that all inspection procedures are carried out transparently and in accordance with the standards set by the authorities,” he said.

No worries after this transfer here there and then relax business as usual because we want to force government to hire more people who wants to work and others gets more pay for it. Brilliant.

Oh now JPJ wants to take action. Been saying it for a while now that Puspakom has directly and indirectly caused many accident among heavy vehicle.
The undercover stint by Ahlokekor’s JPJ showed how corrupted Puspakom has become.
Thats why lorries r allowed to roam our streets with a ‘kaotim” unwroadworthy status.
PMX,time to chop off this monopoly by underperforming Puspakom.

SEPANDAI TUPAI MELOMPAT akhirnya jatuh ke tanah juga.
kantoi lo !
69 out of 115 inspected kena saman. That’s more than 50% failure rates. On daily record of puspakom how many they found failed inspection? Dear puspakom CEO can answer this?
Ada cerita lately only want to do surprise check. Should be done long time ago. Shame.
It has to be said that people often forget the role of vehicle owners themselves in maintaining their vehicles correctly and not looking to pay their way to an approval. It is sad that the culture here is still to “pass Puspakom”, and not “to ensure my vehicle is well maintained towards better road safety.
Why no tangkap Loke too? He is the culprit in all this failure.
PuspaCon got any more vacancy or not I want apply
oh selama ni buat inspection inform puspakom dulu ka…
All these ” hanky panky” have been going on for donkey years in the open view. JPJ sleeping kah?
