JPJ opens its new Putrajaya office in Galeria PJH – improved capacity, increased scope of services

The road transport department (JPJ) today opened its new Putrajaya office at Level 1, Galeria PJH Precinct 4 commercial building. This follows on the surprise visit by the chief secretary to the government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, to the old office last September, in which he identified issues such as lengthy waiting times for customers and unfriendly waiting areas.

Transport minister Anthony Loke, who officiated the opening of the new facility, said the new office symbolises JPJ’s commitment to improving the quality of services to the people. “People do not come to JPJ for events or awards. They come here to solve problems. Therefore, our priority is to ensure that every matter they deal with is facilitated, with fast and efficient services,” he said in his opening speech.

Loke said the new outlet, which was completed in just four months, offers more conducive modern facilities and has a larger capacity to better accommodate customers. He said that the number of services offered by the branch has been expanded from 27 types of transactions to 106, which puts it on par with state JPJ offices, reflecting the department’s increased ability to meet the needs of the people.

He added that the office is also equipped with JPJ Assist and kiosk services to enable customers to complete their transactions in easier fashion. However, physical counters are still present to serve those who are more comfortable with the traditional approach.

The Putrajaya branch will not be the only one to be revamped, as Loke said that all JPJ offices nationwide will be upgraded in phases with a more customer-friendly concept, with priority to be given to the locations that are always congested, Bernama reports.

He added that the ministry was considering opening another JPJ office in Nilai to take the load off the Bangi JPJ office, which is one of the busiest outlets.

Lorries & buses are crashing left and right yet Loke is only focus on showing face to sign a bloody poster. Too bad we cannot impeach him for not doing his job as Transport Minister!

Do you think that is the only thing a transport minister has to do, there are buses crashing and trucks crashing left and right for the longest time when there were other transport ministers, there was never even an investigation. This guy is doing so much more than all the previous transport ministers addressing various issues. Do you think you can be a better replacement for MOT? Run a simulation of you being a transport minister than you see the weight of being a responsible MOT for 34 Million People.

If he cannot do even the most basic of a Transport Minister duty which is to ensure safety of roadusers, he should be FIRED!!!!

Should decentralized the jurisdiction of JPJ into state government agency. More efficient than more coffer to state government to develop each state.

Stupid move. There are already state segregated JPJs which lead to a lot of overlapping duties causing the need for more manpower wastages. We need to centralise more not decentralise.
