Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has revised the pricing for the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line, which was first launched here in March last year. The new asking price is RM384,972 on-the-road without insurance and with a standard two-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
Should you add the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP), which includes a five-year, unlimited-mileage extended warranty and five-year maintenance package, the price rises to RM402,272 – VAP is a RM17,300 option.
For context, the locally-assembled (CKD) Touareg was initially priced at RM454,272 without VAP and RM472,272 with it when it was introduced. As such, the price has gone down by RM69,300 without VAP, or RM70,000 with VAP factored in.
No change in terms of specifications, with the Touareg continuing to be powered by a 3.0 litre TSI V6 petrol engine making 340 PS (335 hp or 250 kW) and 450 Nm of torque, with drive sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system. The 0-100 km/h time is six seconds and the top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
Standard equipment includes self-levelling air suspension, IQ.Light HD LED matrix headlights, 20-inch “Braga” two-tone alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a Qi wireless charging pad and a 13-speaker, 730-watt Dynaudio Consequence sound system.
The IQ.Drive suite of driver assistance systems includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centring assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross traffic alert with auto braking, park assist, a driver attention monitor and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

They intentionally overpriced
Guess they learn very well of Malaysian concept of monopoly let corrupt cronies to buy the cars at inflated prices first then reduce the prices hoping for other rich fellas to continue.
If really want, I’ll wait 3 years and get a second hand unit at just RM200k
people with sane mind will top up 10k and go for GLC
people with sane mind will not consider glc at all.

Now the price tag is more competitive, it needs a R Design makeover plus a panoramic sunroof for the final appeal so it can start seeing homes.
Why suddenly can have price cut?
I m not sure how our price structure work here, look at the China market, those continental brands are give huge discounts, upto a very substantial percentage. Can this happen here ?
