Seen plenty of the Jaecoo J7 on the road? Your suspicions are correct; the handsome SUV is selling well. Jaecoo Malaysia has reported sales of 7,041 units of the J7 in the five months after its launch in July 2024. That’s around 1,400 units per month, a high figure for a newcomer in the C-SUV segment.
Jaecoo Malaysia is attributing the achievement to investments in an extensive dealer network, warehouse and production assets. The company recently recognised the 12 top performing dealerships at its first-ever dealership awards.
“We appreciate our customers for their faith in the Jaecoo brand and we will remain dedicated to deliver on our brand promise with best-in-class vehicles and a premium ownership experience. The awards recognise our dealer network which play a vital role in the brand’s overall achievement. We will continue to expand our dealer network, in line with our ambition to provide the absolute best customer experience,” said Jaecoo Malaysia VP Emily Lek.
Johor-based dealership Auto Galaksi took home the trophy for highest sales. Also recognised at the inaugural dealership awards were Gagner Auto, ES Premium Holdings, Luxury Legend, Siang Hin (KL), Apple Autotech, Kluster Automobile, Carshen, AAW Nexus, BH Premium Auto, Indah Utara Enterprise and Tropical Impact Auto.
Jaecoo Malaysia says that it will be expanding its evaluation to include Customer Service Index (CSI) and Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) scores, among other criteria, this year.
The company’s second product – the Omoda C9, was launched in December 2024 – and next up is the J7 PHEV, which launch is set to happen next month. Like the petrol-powered J7, the plug-in hybrid will be CKD locally assembled from launch at Chery’s Shah Alam plant. Estimated price from RM170k – full details here.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Proton X70 met his match. it is interesting that this non-national vehicle can match proton’s offering and outsell proton. something proton have to relook into itself.. where else can they improve
Proton will ask Geely where can they improve, lmao.
Incoming PHEV more of CRV price range OK?
aftersales would be a good start. rather than mmg macam tu. admittedly, proton has a broader scale of vehicles to maintain but that should be no excuse for their lousy after sales. if comparing it to jaecoo with a smaller portfolio, if they had just a crappy after sales, probably people would give them a chance as the cars are on a newer platform anyway.
Why buy the copycat car?
My dear not need to hate, japan car fanboy as toyota fanboy
Its interesting this Land Rover copy now is getting good say when in the past people shun all these copycats. Looks like copying & stealing is now acceptable in new malaysia.
Why would a buyer be bothered with how the manufacturer go about making this car? The buyer is only concerned with the pricing, specs, reliability, performance and whether the design/ styling are to his liking or not.
Even your beloved and iconic VW Beetle copied the Tatra 97 and got sued. But did anyone care?

Peter John Matkin, formerly of Jaguar Land Rover, serves as the Chief Engineer for Jaecoo, bringing his extensive experience to the brand’s development. Not really copycat.
Nice
Better RV than CRV?
If your only argument is RV, then you better just use public transport and use the money to buy real estate. More affluent people buy whatever they want.
6 months sales numbers for one Chinese model vs Nissan’s overall sales for one year in 2024
Congratulation , hope these 7000 people no complain before Jun 2025.

A good alternative to proton and crv or ugly cross.
Wish they add the keyless entry on passenger side of door. Currently on the driver door only like an entry level car that cut cost.
land cruiser front, range rover back, those who buy this horrible thing really got bad and cheap taste
Are you saying corolla cross facelift also copying from other brand too. Enough of hatred
