UMW Toyota sold 6,632 units in Feb 2025, 12,015 YTD

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced it sold 6,632 vehicles in the month of February 2025, which, when combined with the 5,383 units delivered a month prior in January, brings the year-to-date (YTD) total to 12,015 units.

“At UMW Toyota Motor, we are not just selling vehicles – we are shaping journeys, enabling progress, and delivering peace of mind with every drive. As we accelerate into 2025, we remain steadfast in our commitment to innovation, quality, and customer-centric solutions that enhance every aspect of mobility. Our goal is to ensure that every Toyota owner experiences the reliability, performance, and exceptional after sales service that define our brand,” said Datuk Ravindran Kurusamy, president of UMWT.

The February 2025 sales result of 6,632 units is less than what was announced for the same corresponding month in 2024, which saw a total of 7,480 units (Toyota 7,347 units, Lexus 133 units) delivered. Meanwhile, the current YTD total of 12,015 units in 2025 makes up nearly 12% of the 102,300 units that the company delivered for whole of last year.

In its release, UMWT also said its aftersales service network includes 100 3S (sales, service and spare parts) centres strategically located nationwide. Last year, service intakes amounted to around 1.42 million customers.

“Owning a Toyota is more than just a purchase, it’s a long-term partnership. Our nationwide network of 3S centres is designed to keep our customers moving with confidence, backed by expert service and continuous investment in aftersales excellence. We will continue to enhance our technology, training, and accessibility to provide seamless and worry-free ownership experiences for all Toyota drivers in Malaysia,” commented Ravindran.

UMW stands for United Motor Works, which is part of UMW group. Since the company was sold to Sime Darby now, the name should have been changed. Or is it still UMW Toyota?

Could have been Sime Darby Toyota. Or Toyota Malaysia. To be still UMW is weird.
