Honda Malaysia names Narushi Yazaki as new managing director, CEO; replaces Hironobu Yoshimura

Honda Malaysia (HMSB) has announced that Narushi Yazaki has joined the company as its new managing director and CEO, effective April 1. He succeeds Hironobu Yoshimura, who led the firm for the past three years and has returned to Japan in a new role at Honda’s Tokyo head office.

According to HMSB, Yazaki arrives with over 25 years of experience at Honda, having held leadership roles in countries such as Japan, Thailand and the US. He previously served under corporate administration operations at the head office.

“I am honored to take on this responsibility at Honda Malaysia, a market known for its dynamic growth and significant contributions to the Honda brand in the Asia and Oceania region,” said Yazaki. “I aim to build on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors and continue driving Honda Malaysia’s growth and success in this thriving market.”

Yazaki’s predecessor Yoshimura played a “key role” in maintaining HMSB’s 11-year reign at the top of the non-national passenger vehicle segment and navigated the company through challenging market conditions after the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said.
