Following the introduction of the Zeekr 009 Executive last week, Zeekr Malaysia has now announced that the base variant of the electric MPV has been updated to feature dual-chamber air suspension instead of the previous single-chamber system.
Beyond this change, everything else about the Executive variant is as per what we reported previously. The base option is offered at an introductory price of RM310,000 on-the-road without insurance for the first 500 customers, with a non-promo price set to be revealed later. The 009 originally launched in two variants, including the Luxury priced at RM349,800 and the Ultra Luxury at RM359,800, which makes the Executive up to RM49,800 cheaper when compared to the latter.
Unlike the other two variants that are all-wheel drive with dual motors rated for 612 PS (603 hp or 450 kW) and 693 Nm of torque, Executive only has a single electric motor at the front making 340 PS (335 hp or 250 kW) and 373 Nm. The 0-100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds is slower than the AWD variants’ 4.5 seconds, although the top speed is identical at 210 km/h.
The Executive gets the same 116-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery as the AWD variants, and with one less motor, it provides a WLTP-rated range of up to 604 km instead of 582 km. Charging at a max AC input of 11 kW will get the battery get from 0-100% in 13.5 hours, while DC fast charging from 10-80% with a 150-kW input needs 30 minutes.
The Executive is only offered as a seven-seater like the Luxury and gets similar equipment to the now mid-tier variant. Based on the spec sheet available, the base variant misses out on front doors with an electronic latch and the steering wheel is manually adjustable instead of powered.
Retained are the matrix LED headlamps with adaptive driving beam (ADB) and front lighting system (AFS), LED daytime running lights, interior ambient lighting, Nappa leather/Ultrasuede upholstery, powered first- and second-row seats (with ventilation and massage functions), seven airbags and a suite of ADAS.
