According to a report by Japan’s Creative Trend, Lexus is gearing up to discontinue both the coupe and convertible versions of the LC, which last got updated in 2023. At present the V8-powered LC 500 is available in both body styles, with the hybrid V6-equipped LC 500h being a coupe-only offering.
The Lexus LC first made its debut in January 2016 and was previously previewed by the LF-LC concept that broke cover way back in 2012. The LC 500h was introduced later in 2016 in February, with the LC 500 Convertible arriving in November 2019.
In the years since its debut, the LC has received a number of special editions, and this looks to be case with the model’s (alleged) impending discontinuation. Like the V8-powered IS 500, the LS will be sent off with a commemorative variant called the Pinnacle Edition.
Set to be announced later this week on June 26, the Pinnacle Edition is said to be limited to just 200 units in Japan. One hundred units (50 LC 500 Coupes and 50 LC 500 Convertibles) will be reserved for existing Lexus owners, with the remainder made available as part of a general slot – a lottery system will determine those lucky enough to get one.
The Pinnacle Edition cars are expected to be finished in Matte Silver paint and sport 21-inch forged alloy wheels in a black finish, red brake calipers and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler. Inside, it gets a black and white colour scheme with seats upholstered in semi-aniline leather.
The report also points out a Mark Levinson sound system, a colour head-up display and Alcantara upholstery. As for the convertible, it gets many of the coupe’s changes, but with a Sand Beige roof, Neutrino Gray paint and a synthetic leather ornament panel.

Should also call it the LC Climax Edition.
