Johor Bahru’s Jalan Ismail Sultan will be fully closed to all vehicles nightly till July 16 to facilitate construction works for the JB-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link project.
RTS Operations said the closure will take place daily from 10pm to 5am the following day, with construction expected to take seven hours each day. To be precise, the affected Jalan Ismail Sultan stretch is towards Stulang, after the traffic light junction near the CIQ complex and R&F Mall.
However, a contraflow will be activated periodically along Jalan Ismail Sultan (towards JB city centre) to ease the choke of vehicles from the CIQ and R&F heading towards Stulang. If you’re in this area at night, follow the signs and the crew – drive safe.
Anyway, the first RTS Link train set has been delivered and rail system works is currently at 56% completion, and on track start operations in December 2026.
