Road diversions in Kuala Lumpur will be carried out in stages from July 8 to 11, in conjunction with the 58th ASEAN foreign ministers meeting and related meetings, Bukit Aman traffic enforcement and investigation department (JSPT) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri has said in a statement.
Prior to the official start to the event, dry runs will be held from today, July 4 to July 7 involving 391 traffic personnel, comprised of senior and junior police officers. The full deployment of road diversions will be carried out from July 8 to 12, and the JSPT will be carrying out road diversions in stages on three highways and 15 main roads around the Klang Valley, Yusri said.
The diversions begin on July 7, from 7am until delegation arrivals are completed, in stages. Affected roads are:
- Lebuh KLIA
- Elite Highway (KL – Putrajaya)
- MEX Highway
- KL-Seremban Highway (Sungai Besi to city centre)
- Lingkaran Putrajaya
- Jalan Istana
- Jalan Damansara
- Jalan Tun Abdul Razak
- Jalan Ampang
- Jalan Sultan Ismail
- Jalan Bukit Bintang
- Jalan Imbi
Diversions on July 8 will be from 10am until delegation arrivals at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) are completed, and the return journey to their accommodations from 5pm. The affected roads are:
- Jalan Ampang – Jalan P. Ramlee intersection
- Jalan Sultan Ismail – Jalan P. Ramlee intersection
- Jalan Perak – Jalan P. Ramlee intersection
- Jalan Perak – Jalan Pinang intersection
- Jalan Stonor – Jalan Kia Peng intersection
- Jalan Stonor – Persiaran KLCC intersection
Routes with diversions are the same on the following dates. On July 9, the diversions will be from 7am until delegation arrivals at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) are completed, and the return journey to their accommodations from 4pm.
On July 10, this will be from 7am outbound from accommodations to KLCC, then from 5pm back to their accommodations. Diversions will be repeated that evening from 7pm outbound to KLCC, and then the return from 10am back to their accommodations.
Finally on July 11, diversions will be from 7am until delegation arrivals at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) are completed, according to the statement by PDRM JSPT.
Road users are advised to plan journeys in advance, and are encouraged to use public transport to make way for the motorcades on the affected routes.
Commercial and heavy vehicles are advised to not enter the Kuala Lumpur city centre throughout the duration of the road diversions, especially during peak times to reduce traffic congestion as well as to reduce the risk of damage to vehicles and of road accidents, the statement continued.

These VIPS should absolutely be stuck in traffic together with any other normal rakyat. Ashamed of letting their VIP guests see our bad traffic? Yes, they should be so ashamed. Parroting “change change change” but in the end back to the same old same old build more highways, enrich more cronies, sell more cars, create more chaos and traffic.
So.. berapa BILLLIYYUNN pelaburan akan dipungut dari negara-negara asing kali ni?
For God’s sake we have Putrajaya for these sort of things ! Why can’t these type of government meeting be held in the administrative capital where security is much easier to maintain & far less trouble for the public?
Maybe because someone got kidnapped there. Until now, no news. In fact, the media is like blackout on that story oledy.
