UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced that it sold 7,773 units in June 2025, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) sales total for the first half of the year to 44,286 units.
While no sales figures were previously given for May, subtracting June’s sales plus April’s recorded YTD total of 27,876 units from the current YTD numbers reveals that 8,637 units should have been registered by the company in May.
Additionally, June’s figures represents a 2.28% (or 173 units) improvement over the corresponding period in 2024, when the company shifted 7,600 units. However, the overall 1H numbers for 2025 is a 5.77% drop (or 2,714 units) from the 47,000 units the company recorded in the first six months of 2024.
You will note that the reported numbers differ somewhat from the 9,946 units recorded for the brand in June via the road transport department (JPJ)’s registration data, but that data set also takes into account reconditioned vehicles, of which the Alphard MPV provides a significant chunk to the total.
