Subaru has revealed another electric vehicle (EV) that will join its line-up that currently includes the Solterra and Trailseeker. Called the Uncharted (yes, you read that right), it has no relation to the video game series but is instead the sister model to the electric Toyota C-HR+.

First making its debut in the United States, the Uncharted will be Subaru’s smallest electric SUV offering when it goes on sale in early 2026. Buyers will get to choose from three variants: Premium FWD, Sport and GT.

As the Uncharted is the mechanical twin to the C-HR+ (it’s simply known as C-HR in the US), it is built on the same e-TNGA platform and shares many of the body panels. It isn’t a carbon copy though, as Subaru made some tweaks to the Uncharted to set it apart from its sibling.

Placing the cars side by side, you can see that the Uncharted’s face has more black panelling, including a section for the Pleiades logo. The daytime running lights above the main headlamps are also distinctive with dotted lines instead of the C-HR+’s C-shaped signature.

The dotted lines are also replicated for the taillights, which sees the omission of the C-HR+’s light bar connecting the two clusters. Further down, the bumper has a prominent section in a contrasting colour.

The “familiar but tweaked” approach extends to the interior, which is pretty much identical to the Toyota, except for the steering wheel that is lifted from the Solterra and Trailseeker. Notable features include a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, 18- or 20-inch wheels, ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads and available StarTex water-repellent upholstery.

In terms of powertrains, the Uncharted comes standard with a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery. The Premium FWD, which will be offered in limited numbers, is (as you’d expect) front-wheel drive with 221 hp and offers an estimated range of up to 483 km (300 miles).

Meanwhile, the Sport and GT variants get two electric motors for all-wheel drive and a total system output of 338 hp. Range takes a hit with this setup at up to 467 km (290 miles), with the upshot being a 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) time of under five seconds. AWD variants also come with Subaru’s X-Mode off-road drive modes.

For charging, the Uncharted is equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port that means it can be charged at Tesla Superchargers. Subaru says getting from a 10-80% state of charge takes 30 minutes with a DC input of 150 kW, and there’s also 11-kW AC charging.
