The Volvo Padel Open 2025 (June 21 to July 27) saw a record 416 players take part (including 160 newbies), and Sunday saw 12 champions crowned across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced categories at Malaysia’s biggest padel tournament.
In the Beginner category, the men’s champions were Omar Abd Aziz and Khairil bin Anuar, and for the women’s, Ng Suhan and Nadia Syafiq. Leong Kit Kuan and Nicholas Low Wei Loong took the Intermediate Men’s title, while the Intermediate Mixed victors were Florence Song Oon Hui and Raad Mukhtar Hamud.
In the Advanced category, Aidan Khairuddin Yunus and Andreas Falk Bjerrehus won the men’s, while Sharifah Elysia binti Wan Abdul Rahman and Christian Didier Chin Zao Quan were the mixed champs.
Held in partnership with the Joy Division Padel, Padelground and PadelKu clubs, the second-ever Volvo Padel Open gave players the chance to win prizes worth over RM180,000. Beyond cash rewards, champions also won complimentary court hours, seven days with a Volvo EV, racquets and various merchandise.
All Beginner and Intermediate players underwent professional assessment to ensure fair play, and players were also offered free coaching clinics.
“We’re proud to complete another successful Volvo Padel Open. Padel and Volvo grow hand in hand, both standing for inclusivity, wellness, and connection. It’s inspiring to see players of all ages and backgrounds forge new friendships on and off the court,” said Volvo Car Malaysia marketing operations and PR director Patricia Yaw.
