PLUS has donated four units of the Honda CR-V to the road transport department (JPJ) for the latter’s enforcement work. The SUVs, in 1.5L turbo form, were handed over to JPJ in Putrajaya today in a simple ceremony witnessed by transport minister Anthony Loke.
The highway concessionaire says that the CR-Vs – which sport JPJ livery on a white base, plus lights on the roof – are to assist JPJ in law enforcement, patrol work and more effective monitoring on PLUS-operated highways.
This initiative is part of a strategic cooperation between PLUS and JPJ in ensuring that the public enjoy safe journeys on the highway, besides strengthening enforcement work along the North-South Highway.
PLUS says that the handover of this latest batch of four vehicles is the second donation to JPJ, the first of which happened in 2019. That batch consisted of 10 units of the previous-generation CR-V with the 2.0L naturally aspirated engine, so it’s a big performance upgrade for the officers.

Therefore please use the vehicles wisely. How about some “dynamic” policing as well..? Drive on highway at max legal speeds and catch whomever vehicles which overtakes, “kurang ajar” tailgating, and mat motors weaving in and out of traffic – and use on-board cameras to capture these offending motorists. It’s not rocket science; it’s been done throughout the world for years.
Just the fact that these vehicles are visible on the highways – instead of parked at some JPJ office somewhere – is already a deterrent.
Should prioritize in catching those drive slow on highway
why not support local brands like Proton and donate the X70 instead?
X70 got gearbox problem, not recommended
Plus contract was supposed to end in 2018 after 30 years consessionaire. The highway could had been handed over to LLM for operations and maintenance. Perhaps charge every user RM1 for upkeeping, which with average of 1.85mil vehicles per day is already good money to maintain lights, toilets, road works and grass cutting, fencing etc. No matted the distance. Which translates to almost 700 million ringgit per year, not including the increase during school holidays and festival seasons etc.
Sadly, what our PM did in 2018 (Najib) was to extend the contract for another 25 years. Good enough for the BOD of PLUS bhd to happily enjoy fat salary, allowances and bonus.
Giving 4 units CRVs is nothing for PLUS to spend. Shame on you.
Government always stating they have no money. Spending on brand new vehicles is not saving any money. Malaysia’s AI need a new brain app. AI has no brain on how to save money for Malaysia. AI giving money to other countries is not a wise at all. AI should be saving the money for Malaysia not spending it.
