Showing it is serious about the superbike market is China’s CFMoto, showing its V4SR-RR flagship sportsbike at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. The V4SR-R tops the range of CFMoto’s SR sportsbike range, currently comprising of the 250SR, 250SR Lite, 450SR, 500SR Voom and 675SR-R, in Malaysia.
The V4SR-RR comes with a V-four engine displacing 997 cc, which CFMoto says is capable of producing over 210 hp. This number puts the V4SR-R on par with anything in the superbike class from the established European and Japanese manufacturers.
With a less than one kg per hp ratio, the V4SR-RR, weighing below 200 kg curb weight on paper, is likely to be one of the most powerful production motorcycles in the world, bar the purpose-built racing motorcycles campaigning the World Superbike Championship.
Aerodynamics also plays a large part in the V4SR-RR, with servo controlled winglets on the front fairing deflecting airflow for maximum downforce. Semi-active electronically controlled suspension is also fitted to the V4SR-RR, while Akrapovic supplies the exhaust system.
CFMoto has not committed to whether the V4SR-R will become a production model. However, the V4SR-RR will play a part “as an advanced platform for the development of future models that will soon take shape.”
