An Instagram user recently shared her experience of being a snatch theft victim at a petrol station in Puchong Jaya. The incident, which occurred on February 10, 2026 just before Chinese New Year, was captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
At the start of the video, the victim is seen using the pump terminal when a motorcyclist passes by and seemingly gestures at her. Cut forward a little later, the victim is now refuelling her car when the same motorcyclist makes a second pass.
However, the motorcyclist stops midway to reposition his vehicle before zooming in to snatch the victim’s handbag and she falls to the ground as a result. The victim then seeks the help of the driver of the recording vehicle queued up behind her.
In her post, the victim said many key belongings like her phone, wallet, house keys and even her car key were in the stolen handbag. She adds that this encounter is a reminder to everyone to always be aware of their surroundings.
Snatch thefts happen in a blink of an eye and aren’t uncommon. Certain measures that may help reduce the risk of being a victim, particularly when refuelling at a petrol station in this case, include only bringing the essentials (credit card, the necessary amount of cash, car keys) and keeping other items out of sight inside the car and locking it.

these trash of society, as usual.
this is merely a minor crime and not a big deal. polis has to focus on more hardcore criminals such as walking on q book, and buying limited edition halla soxx from jj mart
she is quick to know that since she lost her car keys too, no point pump petrol and return the nozzle to the pump as the car cannot be driven.
I hate to victim blame but we live in malaysia where snatch thieves are everywhere like cockroaches. Always have to be on the lookout
ada kaki ada tangan tak mahu kerja. Sampah masyarakat!
