Overview
The BMW 3 Series is a compact executive sedan for buyers who want a five-seat premium saloon with petrol power, an automatic gearbox and the familiar rear-driven sports-sedan brief. The G20 LCI 2 generation launched in 2025, and the range starts from RM265,800 for the 320i Sport.
3 Series in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the petrol 3 Series carries on without a model update. The current range remains the 320i Sport, 330i M Sport and 330Li M Sport, all with 2.0-litre petrol engines and conventional automatic transmissions. The latest change is pricing: BMW Malaysia’s 2026 price list moves the 3 Series up by RM9,000. The 2025 update brought a flat-bottomed steering wheel and new tech.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the 320i Sport at RM265,800 because it gets the 3 Series body, five seats and 184 hp petrol drivetrain at the lowest price. Pay RM313,800 for the 330i M Sport if you want the stronger 258 hp tune. The 330Li M Sport costs RM320,800; the RM7,000 gap over the 330i buys the long-wheelbase format, not more power, with output rated at 255 hp.

Verdict
The 3 Series still works because its core brief is broad: the size is right for daily use, the handling and performance brief remains central, and it has proper sedan practicality. But the LCI cabin is not a clean win, with the earlier facelift making the interior less user friendly despite minor upgrades. It also is not the cheapest route into the class, with the Tesla Model 3 starting much lower.
