Overview
The GWM Ora Good Cat is a B-segment electric hatchback with five seats, rounded retro-inspired styling and city-friendly size. Launched here in 2022, it suits buyers moving from petrol hatchbacks into an EV without going SUV. The Ultra starts at RM109,800, with a single-ratio drive unit and a quoted 400 km range.
For 2026, the Good Cat is the updated Malaysian model, not a carry-over. It gets a new 57.7 kWh LFP battery, a quoted 480 km NEDC range and a Good Cat GT derivative with a 171 PS motor. Pricing is lower from RM107k, with the range RM34k cheaper than before.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the Ultra at RM109,800. It gets the 57.7 kWh battery, 400 km quoted range, 143 hp and five seats, which is the longer-range setup here. The GT at RM119,800 adds the stronger 169 hp motor, but its quoted range is 380 km. The RM10,000 gap buys performance, not more range; check the equipment list before paying more for trim.

The Good Cat’s pull is still its character: the cute name, rounded design and cabin presentation make it feel less generic than many EVs. It does not have the price floor now, though. Proton eMas 5 and Wuling Bingo start much lower, while BYD Dolphin, MG 4, Dongfeng Box and Neta V also open below it. Buy it for design and the GT’s extra shove, not bargain-hunting.
