Which variant to buy

Most buyers should choose the RM85,900 1.5 S. Every petrol version uses the 1,498 cc, 119 hp front-wheel-drive CVT powertrain, so it is the rational starting point. The 1.5 E costs RM90,900, the 1.5 V RM95,900 and the 1.5 RS Petrol RM100,900; on paper, those price steps do not buy different quoted mechanicals, so check the equipment list before spending more. Pay RM112,900 for the e:HEV RS only if its 205 hp petrol hybrid/REV eCVT is your priority.

Verdict

The City Hatchback covers the petrol-to-hybrid spread within one five-seat hatchback range. Its S entry is RM2,100 below the Toyota Yaris, but the Perodua Myvi, Proton eMas 5 and Wuling Bingo all start for less. The e:HEV RS costs RM12,900 more than the Dongfeng Box’s entry point, so its hybrid powertrain needs to matter to you.
