Peugeot 3008 with new face surfaces in China

Peugeot 3008 with new face surfaces in China

This image of a “facelifted” Peugeot 3008 has been circulating in China, showing an undisguised 3008 wearing Peugeot’s new family face. Not sure where it’s from and where it’s heading, but we won’t be surprised if this turns out to be real – the 3008 has been around since 2009 (launched here in June 2010) and could be due for a mid-life refresh.

This new face, which the world first saw two years ago on the SR1 concept, has since been repeated on various concept cars (HR1 from Paris 2010, HX1 from Frankfurt 2011, SXC from Shanghai 2011, Urban Crossover from Beijing 2012) and production models such as the 508 and 301. It replaces the marque’s previous trademark “feline face” with the gaping mouth.

  • The old car looks better…the new car plain boring, could be mistaken for SUV from China

actually, the current car can be described as distinctive while the facelift looks more acceptable to the general public.

Seems like peugeot’s changing its face. The previous generation all had the big grin on its face. The new ones all inherited the 508’s front grille design que.

more like an all new model than a facelift. notice the difference in A-pillar & C-pillar curves?

i wonder if peugeot still make reliable SUVs. i remember watching Amazing Race Asia – contestant driving a sponsored 3008 to Batu Caves and the car suddenly broke down middle of the road. haha.

Don’t think it’s a peugeot. look carefully. windows profile totally different to be part of facelift exercise. Grille details has no articulated design or character. I think its another China copycat. CRVs, audi, camry, accord etc have copycats in China. Korean and japanese used to copycats europeans car, as part of the learning curve till they found their own design directions. In this case, they’re jumping to a new bandwagon for crossover market.

yup, i noticed the opera window shape too. perhaps they changed the shape to give the car a different new side profile. i do prefer the new look though… if it really is the refreshed 3008.
