Remember the Nissan Resonance Concept from Detroit 2013? Here’s what the showcar has evolved into – the third-generation Nissan Murano, which will make its public debut at the upcoming 2014 New York International Auto Show.
We can see that the production car has inherited the concept’s sexy “Energetic Emotion Flow” side curves as well as the blacked out D-pillar which gives the new Murano a “floating” look to the roof.
On the rear, there are Nissan 370Z-inspired boomerang-shaped tail lamps. On the overall, the car looks lower and wider than the outgoing second-generation Murano.
The overall design has a similiar family look to smaller Nissan SUVs such as the new X-Trail. The front grille adopts the new Nissan face which has been described as “V Motion”, replacing the “Kamishimo” grille found on Nissan’s current sedans.
These press photos show a single interior colour scheme for now – one that has a bright and airy feel. The seats will adopt Nissan’s NASA-inspired “zero gravity” construction which should promise a nice cushy ride.
A single drivetrain will be available for the US market Murano – Nissan’s venerable 3.5 litre V6 engine mated to an Xtronic CVT transmission, although perhaps for other markets that are not so displacement-hungry, we might see the use of a 2.5 litre four-cylinder engine. Looks good, doesn’t it?

Beautiful !
I thought it is the second gen volvo xc60. Looks like it can rival the evoque with its concept looks. Just simply gorgeous.
This gorgeous Murano make those cheap toy Sorento & Santa Fe look like amateur works…muahahaha
Agree, what do the kimchi car left after the most outstanding feature – The outlook is totally beaten?
Design is not neat, very messy, too busy.
Looks cheap. Looks Kimchi. Not elegant la.
most gorgeous Nissan SUV to date!! My favorite so far!! Distinctive, bold, elegant, way to go, Nissan!!
If Tan Chong could bring in the 2.5 litre version. It would be a serious contender for the rest.
The exterior design makes it as the most gorgeous Jpn SUV..
Damn the interior din even match with the exterior… damn dated and fugly interior..
aku ada terbau pencacai toyota vios kat sini…
Stim sial see the design. Damn nice!
This looks better the ln the current generation. Aspecially the rear design. Contemplating off getting one this with the right price.
I think the rear is a bit overdone but surely looks better than the previous model. Ditch the white/ cream interior please. It spoils the whole thing.
and yes, bring the 2.5 ltr engine.
impressive exterior design and futuristic
Nissan murano trademark military grill is no more… Look sporty than macho/garang like before
pls use a small engine pls
the exterior looks stunning! but a bit disappointing for the dashboard. it lacks of wow factor i guess..
Nice
What a gorgeous looking car!
Too bad ETCM will only decide to bring it in 5 years later as usual
Yeah but better than Toyota never bring Harrier to our shore
3.5 V6 mated with CVT is a bad choice…
Its been a long time since we mentioned nissan and beautiful in da same sentence….this looks ace…morano was one of da 1st to make suv’s cool when it was launched 1st gen
Nabil, couldn’t agreed with u more. I remember when the 1st generation hits the market, it hit like a storm. Every single turn we look on the road seems to have one, like a “must have” trend or something. Then, the 2nd generation came (*working at Nissan this moment) and see the market sway away from it due to the much more sedate looks. Now, with this 3rd generation brings back the old recipe…the WOW factor! Can see now all grey importers are ready to gunning this beauty for sure.
looks like Peugeot headlamp design…
interior doesnt work for me…too much space wasted on passenger side of the dashboard
Love the design.
Looks so much much elegant + aggressive than current gen of Murano.
Sure a lot of people will pening to choose, Murano or Evoque?
Anyway the front grille looks a lil bit overdone.
Light/Cream is a no-no.
I prefer Dark/Light Brown. Or maybe just black.
Just my two centss
:)
Can I have this in the next Avengers movies, pls?
that looks pretty damn awesome, although I still think suvs and crossovers are kinda pointless unless you live in a farm, which 97% don’t.
nice design on xternal n looking very comfort in cabin area. sure can be like pisang goreng if the price is right.
wow 370z inspired head n tail lights
Both this Murano and the new X-Trail are good looking cars. Only questions are when will they arrive and at what price point. Reliability is an almost given with Nissan already and now they have decent styling to go with as well.
Nissan Murano is the best looking yet the cheapest among their competitor like Lexus Rx370, Evoque and Audi Q5.
First glance at the rear reminds me of the Mazda CX-5 rear
Great looking interior and exterior wise…
wonder how it handles… 3.5 v6 is quite a powerful engine… i doubt even ron97 here could even satisfy the engine hunger for fuel…. Xtronic CVT on a 3.5 flat six is quite interesting… wonder how Nissan tweak da CVT…
Nice but u need to wrap the interior in plastic or elseit will get dirty fast
why CVT? 3.5L with lots of power and torque, just cannot comprehend.
we are looking at nissan xtronic cvt not some cheap honda cvt.
very nice design. all i can describe is MARVELLOUS. Good job Nissan. . hopefully will be lauched ASAP.
White interior? Hmm going after the rapper market Nissan?
american focused car….if it was other market focused it would be much better
the design is gorgeous for nissan car compared to previous generation…
however the engine option seems to be limited in nowadays where turbocharge is more popular…
