SPIED: Chevrolet Colorado facelift sports new look

2017 Chevrolet Colorado spyshot-01

A picture that looks to be that of the facelifted Chevrolet Colorado has surfaced on Instagram, posted by user bfmsoficial. The spyshot snapped in Brazil shows the pick-up truck fully undisguised and with a new face.

From the looks of it, the single cab Colorado here is given a pair of new headlamps, a different grille and a brand new bumper too. Overall, it does sport a face that’s almost similar to the US-market Chevy Colorado. Looking elsewhere, the same face will likely be applied to the Colorado-based Trailblazer in the future.

This being a facelift rather than a full model change, it looks like the side profile of the vehicle will stay intact. That being said however, seeing that the front has been refashioned quite heavily, what can be expected are a number of tweaks in the back too, including new rear tail lights.

Currently in Malaysia, the Colorado comes with a choice of a 2.5 litre Duramax turbodiesel engine with 161 hp, 380 Nm. Moving up the range, is a 2.8 litre Duramax diesel engine with two different torque outputs: 193 hp/440 Nm and 193 hp/500 Nm. The 2.5 litre and mid-range 2.8 litre is paired with a six-speed manual, while the higher output mill gets a six-speed auto tranny.

The Isuzu D-Max, which is built on the same platform, received its own facelift a couple of months back. Can the Colorado take on other newer rivals such as the Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton and the all-new Toyota Hilux? Share with us your thoughts, below.

    • Chevy in Asia is like Volvo cars. White on the outside, yellow on the inside.

i am st staying in kuala pilah. interested to have a look at the Chevy Sonic Sedan. surfed Naza Quest there website and found id a dealer in nearby Bahau. went there to inquire but found out the dealer has closed shop. what a shame.

checked with the neighbour shop found out dealer did not survive for a year before closing down – basically with no car sales at all.
