GALLERY: Honda City X – limited to just 450 units

Honda City X 01

Yesterday, Honda Malaysia introduced two limited-edition variants of the City sedan and Jazz hatchback. The X Edition models are based on the vehicles’ mid-spec grade E versions, with additional equipment to make them unique.

The City X features half-leather upholstery in place of the fabric seen on the base car, with an X emblem embossed on the front seats for effect. Also on, a trunk tray with X Edition badging and daytime running lights. An X badge on the trunk lid rounds off the additional bits for the special edition variant, which will be limited to just 450 units.

No changes to the City’s powertrain, which is a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine offering 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, and the mill is paired with an Earth Dreams Technology CVT unit.

Safety-wise, there’s ABS, EBD, brake assist, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist as well as dual airbags, since it’s based on the grade E variant. Unlike the base car, only two exterior shades are available for the City X, and these are Modern Steel Metallic – seen in the showroom display unit here – and Dark Ruby Red Pearl.

The City X is priced at RM86,100, on-the-road with insurance, which is a slight premium over the RM84,600 for the standard grade E variant.
