Honda Malaysia has introduced two limited edition variants of the City sedan and Jazz hatchback. The X Edition models, as they are known as, have been badged to showcase their ‘eXclusivity’, and will be limited to 450 and 300 units respectively.
Common to both vehicles are specially-dressed half-leather seats with X emblem badging, a unique trunk tray (also adorned with X marking) and daytime running lights. Both the City X and Jazz X look to be based on their respective mid-spec grade E versions.
No mechanical changes, both cars continuing on with a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine offering 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, the engine paired a CVT gearbox.
The City X is priced at RM86,100, while the Jazz X goes for RM82,500 (both on-the-road, with insurance). Honda Malaysia says the waiting period for the X Edition models, which of course come with a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty, extended service interval to every 10,000 km and six free labour services alternating with paid service till 100,000 km, is one month.

Comments express disappointment with Honda Malaysia’s “X Edition” variants, criticizing them as mere cosmetic upgrades without mechanical improvements, often poorly integrated and unattractive. Many see these models as attempts to clear stock before upcoming facelifts, labeling them as overpriced and unnecessary. Enthusiasts prefer aftermarket mods or more reputable performance parts. Some feel the “X” branding is a marketing ploy to boost sales, with feelings of frustration over perceived lack of value and safety features.
