Honda Malaysia has announced a new paint colour for the Honda Jazz. Carnival Red joins the existing New Tinted Silver, Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic to make it five colour options.
Note that Carnival Red is a different shade of red compared to the Dark Ruby Red Pearl that was added to the Honda City colour options late last year. It should be less maroon and more vibrant, but we’ll see.
Colour aside, the base S grade now gets a gloss black grille with chrome plating (previously flat black) and there’s also chrome for the rear license plate garnish. The entry-level variant also receives power adjustable door mirrors; yes, it was previously manual.
“We have observed that the Jazz is attracting a new group of young customers mainly tertiary students and young adults who are looking to own their first car. Research has shown that the colour red was depicted to be fresh, vibrant and young. We are pleased to introduce the Jazz in Carnival Red, which is a perfect combination of fun and practicality. The vibrant and striking colour complements the versatile lifestyle of the young customers perfectly,” said Honda Malaysia MD and CEO Yoichiro Ueno.
The third-gen Jazz was launched locally in July 2014, and Honda Malaysia has sold 26,126 units of the versatile B-segment hatchback as of December 31, 2015. Powered by a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine with 120 PS/145 Nm and a CVT gearbox, the Jazz is available in three variants – S, E and V, with Modulo and Mugen options.
Latest 2016 prices start from RM73,800 for the S, rising to RM81,000 for the mid-spec E. The range topping V is yours for RM89,400, all OTR with insurance.

Red or not, barang naik nobody is buying now
Hmmm…
waiting for their valueable bargain then only buy the red, hold all purchase now as the price hike would not give us win situation
Honda Malaysia should have the RS Model Variant like in Indonesia. Then many more malaysians will buy this car.
Agree! This current generation Jazz actually has a quite competent chassis, all thanks to its double layer chassis construction. Push it through the bends, it handles much better than the previous two generations.
It has the potential to be a small “warm hatch”, or even a full blown hot hatch if you dare to tune it to hit the 200 hp threshold, either by going turbo or supercharged. Too bad our Jazz come with the CVT box and not many tuners work on the current generation of Honda SOHC in the local scence.
The RS version has a much lively engine and it comes with 6MT, bring it on and it should be great fun. It will be a hit for enthusiasts looking for a fun, 3 pedals warm hatch that comes with unbeatable practicality!
Getting some Reds for my girlfrens
Should have introduced this vibrant and lively colour scheme for the City instead of the Dark Ruby Red
just in time for CNY. Very smart move.
