As a homage to an earlier badge design from the mid-1960s, Ford has released a new Pony Package for the 2018 Mustang. The optional package introduces plenty of visual enhancements for the well-known nameplate, and was last used on the Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition.
The retro-inspired styling sees the adoption of the classic pony-in-corral badge design on the Mustang’s grille. Other additions include 19-inch polished aluminium wheels, bright beltline and window trim for fastback models, side stripes on the lower body and tri-bar pony badge on the rear decklid.
The interior meanwhile, gains new premium carpeted floor mats that feature an Ebony embroidered pony logo. Set to be available when the 2018 Mustang goes on sale later this October in the United States, the Pony Package is offered with EcoBoost-equipped Mustangs.
The 2018 Mustang will feature a facelifted exterior and interior, along with improved mechanicals like a revised chassis and suspension setup. Customers can now opt for the optional MagnaRide damping system as well.
The Mustang also gains a new 10-speed automatic gearbox to go along with the improved engines. Ford hasn’t revealed how much the 2.3 litre EcoBoost and 5.0 litre Coyote V8 now produces, but it is revealed the previous 3.7 litre Cyclone V6 is no longer in the line-up.

Some Darby, spec up your upcoming Mustangs with MagnaRide if you still intend to sell them at all. As it stands now, no one wants to touch the Mustang due to a combination of poor equipment lists and eye-gouging pricetags.
