Perodua gives away 100 child seats for Hari Raya

Perodua today distributed 100 child seats to motorists travelling home for Hari Raya, as part of its ongoing five-year Road Safety Campaign launched last October. The Gear Up toddler seats were given to lucky Perodua drivers travelling with children at Petronas highway stations at Rawang, Bentong and Seremban.

“This is the first time Perodua is organising such an event in collaboration with our partner Petronas and our panel of insurers. We took this special initiative because we care for the well-being of our customers and their families. We hope Malaysians will come to realise how important it is to keep children properly secured in child seats while on the move,” said Perodua Sales MD Datuk Dr Zahari Husin, who first spoke about the initiative to paultan.org yesterday.

Introduced in October last year, Perodua’s Gear Up child seats are available in two models – for infants and toddlers. Both are Isofix compatible and meet ECE R44 safety standards. The infant seat, priced at RM623, is for infants weighing up to 13 kg; while the toddler seat is for kids weighing from nine to 36 kg. It is priced at RM736. These are introductory prices valid till June 30, with 0% GST.

“Over two million vehicles are expected to hit the roads this Raya. That’s a lot of vehicles, and naturally, there is a higher risk of collisions and accidents. Seatbelts are designed to restrain adults and not children. Please secure your young ones in child seats, ideally in the back seat, and do not place them on your laps when the vehicle is in motion,” Zahari said.

“Always buckle up in the front and in the back, use your turn signals and do not operate your mobile devices on the move. Above all, drive carefully and have a safe journey back to your hometowns,” he added.

Bravo for Perodua for doing this. This shows Perodua cares for the rakyat.

But what about kroni car companies like Honda (DRB), Toyota (UMW) and BMW (Sime Darby)? They are so rich.

All former kronies of the previous highly corrupted Government. They all benefitted from lots of contracts that made them billions in clean profit every year the past 30 years.

Why aren’t they contributing free car seats?

Time for new PH Government to do an audit on all the previous kroni car companies and clean them up. We need clean car companies like Perodua

And what about you? 1 pun tak ada. And yet, you complain about Perodua giving only 100?

So bodoh, how can they give 10 billion car seats when the population of Malaysia is only 30 million?

      • 100 seats is nothing significant. Why not they gip to ALL new P2 customers that can show baby birth cert? This the least they can do for giving subpar safety specs in their cars.

    The problem is;
    1. Seat left at home after receiving it
    2. Child seat in car but child sits on lap of mother (passenger, front)
    3. Child seat filled with goodies, clothes etc.
    4. Child cries and want to drive car (sits on drivers lap)
    5. Seat sold to others at a discount
    6. Etc.

    After all its free right?

should ask tanchong and berjaya to give during cny. because our society is segregated by race/religion. DLL will be empty handed.
