In this post, we bring you a full gallery of the new Range Rover Velar facelift, which has been open for booking since September with a recommended retail price starting from RM638,800. We get the updated L560 in three variants, including the P250 Dynamic SE (M and H specs) and P250 Dynamic HSE (L spec).
All three get the P250 powertrain, which features a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine rated at 250 PS and 365 Nm. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the latter managed through the Terrain Response 2 system.
In terms of visual changes, they are relatively minor and include a new grille insert that mimic what we’ve seen on the latest Range Rover. The Pixel LED headlamps with jewel-like effect daytime running lights, while the rear gets a revised taillight signature and tweaked lower apron.
Both the H and L specs get 22-inch 10-spoke Style 1075 items in gloss dark grey with contrast diamond turned finish or full gloss black, while the M spec comes with 20-inch Style 1089 rims in 10-spoke gloss black. New exterior colour options are Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey.
Inside, the Velar receives the carmaker’s Pivi Pro infotainment system, which is represented by a single 11.4-inch curved touchscreen that “floats” on the dashboard. The system supports AI voice recognition, with other convenient features being wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charging pad and over-the-air updates.
You’ll notice the secondary touchscreen that was on the pre-facelift model is gone, which means the climate controls and other functions are accessed through the Pivi Pro system. The on-screen buttons for commonly-used things like climate settings of these are always visible so you need not dig through layers of menus – the ergonomic placement of the screen also helps.
As for other features, Active Road Noise Cancellation calculates an audio signal to replay over the cabin’s Meridian speakers to reduce the decibel level inside the car and reduce fatigue, the latter being a result of hearing low-frequency noise for extended periods.
Other comfort features include Cabin Air Purification Plus and configurable cabin lighting with 30 colours, both for the L spec. The H and L specs also get Adaptive Dynamics, while the Technology includes a head-up display, 3D surround camera system, park assist and wade sensing.
