B8 Audi S4 Sedan and Avant unveiled!

B8 Audi S4

Audi has unveiled initial details and a set of photos of the new B8 Audi S4 in both sedan and Avant bodystyles. As expected, the new S4 loses its V8 power to a 3.0 liter supercharged direct injection V6 engine producing 333 horsepower and 440Nm of torque.

The S4 sedan goes from 0 to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds while the Avant does the same in 5.2 seconds. Fuel consumption is expected to be at about 9.7 liters per 100km for the sedan and 9.9 liters per 100km for the Avant. The 3.0 liter V6 engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed S-Tronic (DSG) twin clutch gearbox and sends power to all four wheels via a Quattro system with a 40:60 front-rear bias by default.

Styling changes are not excessive, that is perhaps reserved for the B8 RS4. The S4 features a front bumper with a slightly different design and a grille with vertically opposed bars. There are also nice sports seats in the black interior.

if I were to use my AP for student, what car should I bring back home from US? any suggestions? i drive a 98 Audi A4, but i don’t think it’s worth it to ship it back to Msia with the left hand drive etc.

With your student AP, get a BMW 3 series. Better if there’s M3. Or Nissan GTR or Fairlady. Haha. *brainwashing*. These cars have excellent after-market value (take it to Sunway and have it souped up). Generally Audis are a little less popular for after-market mods.

    Anyway I can’t wait for the RS4!

    OT

US cars are LHD, so think again. Its not the most practical, think single lane roads, toll gates, parking kiosks…..you get the idea.

I nearly bought my car back, which in retrospect should have and treated it as a track car…….

Good luck selling a LHD car in Malaysia…..

One Avant please….(yeah right. I can keep on dreaming)

Been waiting so long for this engine. For a while there, Audi was getting trounced by BMW’s excellent 3.0l turbo engine. The new supercharged engine from Audi moves the game over and beyond BMW’s engine in all areas. 333hp vs 302hp. 325lb/ft vs 295lb/ft. Fuel consumption for both engines is almost exactly the same. I wonder if they will be using this engine for the A5.

Nice-looking car with even more powerful engine. Looking forward to the appearance of the RS4 so there will be a comparison between C63AMG and M3.
