American sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live did a satire skit on the Detroit 3 and their request for a federal bail-out which involved the heads of all three American auto companies on a panel – Rick Wagoner, Robert Nardelli and Allan Mulally.
I found it quite hilarious and I am sure those who are opposed to the Detroit 3 getting a federal bailout or simply anyone that enjoys a good laugh will enjoy this. At least the satirical fictional CEOs did not fly in their private jets to the satirical fictional hearing!
Anyway here’s a note: the video jokes about the U.S. congress asking for a 200 mpg car by 2015, but the number is actually 36 mpg, which is about 6.5 litres per 100km.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha……this is good stuff Paul. I wonder wat will really happen if the US gov doesn’t agree to bail these 3 company out? Will the effect be as catastrophic as the video showed in the earlier post? If they agree, then things will be normal back, but if they dont? Will the company be sold or just closed down? Whose gonna buy them over at the same time bear their losts amounting to billions of dollars? Paul maybe u can give ur opinion on this?
Cheers!!!
Gayer cars…*rolls on the floor laughing*
Great satire on this Detroit Big Three. Excellent. Two thumbs up~!
You should have seen the SNL spoof of the recent Presidential debate, and Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin. Those are classic Saturday Night Live!
To run the companies as it is is not feasible, the union deals and pensions they are paying is dragging the whole thing down. Better to let them go bankrupt (legally) and reset the companies with new deals with the unions.
if they collapse? evrybody drive toyota,. hyundai, honda? god, earth become hell.
