BHPetrol launched its latest engine oil, SynGard 8000, this morning in Damansara. SynGard 8000 is a fully synthetic engine oil that promises “up to five times greater protection for gasoline engines”. The 5W-40 lube meets the latest API SN standards.
“The advancement of its technology is acknowledged as international standard by American Petroleum Institute, which translates as the highest service category for gasoline engines. The category recognises design of the lubricant oil to provide improved high temperature deposit protection for pistons, more stringent sludge control and seal compatibility,” explained Tan Kim Thiam, MD of BHPetrol.
“Additionally, through lab tests and results, the additive component in SynGard 8000 showed wear and tear levels to be five times lower than the limit recommended by API, hence providing five times more protection to engines,” Tan added, clarifying the headline “5X” claim. The additive is from Afton Chemical, a fuel and lube additive specialist.
Besides lubricant film strength, other highlighted points include high temperature performance, sludge control, piston cleanliness, good bearing corrosion prevention, ring sticking deterrence plus good valve train and cylinder wear protection.
SynGard 8000 is available at all BHPetrol service stations and selected lube dealers. A four-litre pack goes for RM188 and for a limited time, buyers get a free set of porcelain dishes with every 4L pack.

Porcelain stuff for free gift for each pack of engine oil ? Gosh, can someone tell the marketing dept that guys are not interested in porcelain crap stuff. Might as well give us a wok instead. Geesh.
i m interested to get the free gift when i buy the syngard. However, i have went to all 4 – 5 BHP station in ipoh, none of them have the free gift!!
