It’s near impossible to find a fan who loves BOTH Manchester United AND Liverpool, but sponsors are less “loyal” in that sense. After hooking up with Manchester United (as Official Automotive Partner for five years, announced back in May), Chevrolet has signed a four-year agreement to partner Liverpool Football Club.
The GM brand’s partnership with the Merseyside club will last till the end of the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League and European campaigns, and includes marketing promotions for Chevrolet at Liverpool’s Anfield home ground as well as the club’s print, digital publications and fan sites, plus player appearances for commercial opportunities.
Let’s not forget pre-season tours, which for Liverpool this season, includes matches against Roma and Tottenham in USA.
“Liverpool supporters from around the world are known for their undying love of their side. Our relationship with Liverpool FC extends beyond the traditional boundaries of sponsorship and is about engaging with supporters. Everything we do will be aimed at keeping them at the centre of the game,” said Global Chevrolet Marketing Vice President Chris Perry.
So it looks like the Reds and the Red Devils will have more in common than the colour red from now!

Too bad sponsoring 2 EPL clubs cost Joel Ewanick, GM marketing officer his job, as GM continues losing more shares in Euro countries.
