Castrol recently launched the “See, Hear & Feel the Difference” campaign to promote its Magnatec range, which now comes with “ultra-refined Intelligent Molecules”. The campaign will use augmented reality tech in the Castrol Magnatec Intelligent Molecules Defence mobile app and game to demo the importance of “Instant Protection” for car engines.
There will be an on-ground Castrol Magnatec Intelligent Molecules Defence roving team of brand ambassadors touring the Klang Valley (20 locations this month) to engage and educate drivers on engine care in a fun and interactive way. Shouldn’t be too tough as they’re quite cute!
Here’s how the new oil works. The molecules cling to the vital parts of your engine, even when it’s turned off, providing an extra layer of protection during start up, which is the most critical time. Castrol’s tests show that cams protected by Magnatec were up to 15 times smoother than those using a conventional oil. Apparently, the components were found to have a surface finish that was more than 100 times smoother than silk.

The Castrol Magnatec Intelligent Molecules Defence app is available on both Apple iOS and Android platforms for mobile and tablet. Play the AR game and submit your scores to stand a chance to win weekly and grand prizes such as the new iPad or one year’s supply of Magnatec. I think the promo should be more interactive..like a science fair.
For example, there should be 2 identical set of gears and a hand crank. One is lubed with Magnatec and the other is lubed with Brand X. The visitors can feel the “Coefficient of Friction” or measure of slipperiness That way they can “feel” the 100X slipperiness of Magnatec.
I believe the visitors would be more convinced with this “Show Me” rather than the non-relevant 18SX promo girls.
