First unveiled in 2010, the Lexus CT Hybrid hatchback is due for a facelift about now, before a next-generation model debuts sometime in 2015. Today we can show you exactly how it will look like in F Sport guise, thanks to our spy photographers who dropped by what appears to be a photography session.
The CT, available only in CT 200h guise using the Toyota Prius‘ 1.8 litre Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain, gets the new aggressive Lexus spindle grille. We also see new alloy wheels and new bumpers on the rear. The headlamps and taillamps look similar to the current model though.
A facelift is timely, as the premium C-segment hatchback market has had plenty of activity since the CT was first unveiled – there are plenty of new refreshed entries such as the Audi A3, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, BMW 1 Series and Volvo V40, and even Infiniti has shown interest in the segment in the form of the Q30 Concept.
The Lexus CT 200h could continue with the Prius Hybrid Synergy Drive system, or Lexus could update it with the system from the Prius Plug-in. However, as we can only see one side of the car in these photos, we can’t tell if there’s a lid for the plug-in socket on the other side.
