A new access road has been opened along Jalan Kerinchi 3 to help alleviate traffic congestion, particularly rush hour traffic heading on to the Sprint Expressway and the Penchala Link from the Federal Highway, both from KL- and PJ-bound routes. The 800-metre road, located across Bangsar South, will also serve as an alternative route for motorists wanting to access Jalan Kerinchi and Jalan Pantai Baru.
“The traffic jam along Jalan Kerinchi and Jalan Pantai Baru is very critical especially during peak hours. This project is aimed at easing this traffic condition,” said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor at the launch of the new access road.
“This is also a shortcut for motorists who are heading towards the Penchala Link and Sprint Highway,” he added. The new road access was constructed to the tune of RM20 million, as understood by The Malaysian Insider. Construction of the road first began in November 2013 and was completed in May 2015.

But I don’t see any new highway also ???

U must be blind. It just nxt to the link that brings u up frm federal highway to sprint highway. If u pass by there, u cant miss it .
Its construction has been the cause of the jam on federal highway right in front of bangsar south
Sorry but can someone actually provide a real map/visual for better understanding?
This newly opened access road are only benefit those who are work/live in bangsa south..those from bangsa south to kerinchi link can now direct access to it instead of make U turn from federal highway (PJ side)to kerinchi link as before, and those who are work in bangsa south now can use kerinchi link lamp (from KL side) to direct access to it instead of going through traffic junction that below kerinch link… .
The jam in bangsar south is at the kerinchi road linking new pantai highway. The narrow road with cars parking on the side & bikes criss crossing jammed vehicles makes driving pass the road a nightmare.

The way the design how the motorcycle lane combines with Sprint/kerinchi link is totally dangerous, cause there will also be vehicles from bangsar south coming in into Sprint/kerinci link from the left side of the motorcycle lane. So basicall they’re successfully created a bottleneck design with 2car lanes sandwiching a motorcycle lane. Somebody is bound to get injured…..
