Mercedes-Benz V-Class AMG Line to debut in Frankfurt

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class AMG Line variant has been introduced ahead of its physical debut at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show this September. Available to order not long after, the move also sees the AMG Line trim being offered to Mercedes-Benz vans for the first time.

Also, the AMG Line will be made available across the entire V-Class lineup, including body lengths as well as the Avantgarde model. Exterior wise, one can expect the usual addenda of sportier-looking bits and bobs which includes a reworked front bumper, more pronounced side sills, a restyled rear bumper with a diffuser-like element and a lip spoiler. Elsewhere, 19-inch twin-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels are to be found.

More than just a cosmetic exercise, the V-Class AMG Line variant also arrives with 17-inch brake discs, clamped by Mercedes-Benz-badged calipers while handling is set to improve marginally via the inclusion of a sport suspension system – the latter lowers the car by 15 mm. Optionally, owners can spec up their V-Class with the marque’s AGILITY CONTROL suspension.

On the inside, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class AMG Line features air vents trimmed in silver chrome accents, aluminium sports pedals, faux carbon-fibre trim and black headlining. “With the V-Class AMG Line we are now addressing further target groups who are looking for even more individuality and emotional appeal,” said Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

Additionally, owners of the V-Class can option out their respective vehicles with a rear air-conditioning system, a massive front centre console with an integrated cooler box, iPad holders on the front seat backrests and a panoramic roof – the latter is claimed to be the largest of its kind in its segment.

Said assembly is measured in at a monumental 1.9 by 1.12 metres and features a two-piece construction with an electronically-operated sliding panel up front and a fixed glass section at the rear. Also, a two-section roller blind allows for a bit of shade on extremely sunny days while a rain sensor automatically seals the panoramic roof should it begin to drizzle.

As mentioned, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class AMG Line will be made available from the end of 2015 on all variants. The current lineup consists of three varying body lengths and two wheelbase configurations. Earlier last year, 4MATIC all-wheel drive technology was added to the V-Class.
