After 67 years, the iconic Land Rover Defender will be laid to rest. Production of the historical off-roader will come to a halt by the end of the year. As a tribute to the iconic 4X4, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) has launched the Land Rover Defender Limited Edition, based on the Double Cab pickup. Here’s a live gallery of the icon, outdoors.

A total of 13 different accessories come equipped with the offroader. It gets a Santorini Black paint scheme applied to the body and wheels, together with a chequered plate set. Down the front, it receives an A-frame protection bar, a 9.5cti WARN electric winch and winch accessories kit. A bumper mounting is also included as well.

A snorkel is installed on the driver’s A-pillar, while protection runners come with the sidesteps. Moving up to the top, a set of four spotlights and an ARB roof rack is attached in place. Down the back, a rear step bumper is equipped as well. The package also includes a set of five off-road tyres. Overall, the limited edition does slightly resemble the Land Rover Defender Big Foot, doesn’t it?

The Land Rover Defender Limited Edition can be customised to order – priced at RM153,888 for the vehicle, plus RM65,388 for the Limited Edition Accessories package, including labour charges and GST. Current Defender owners can similarly purchase the accessories package for the same amount, which is listed as a promotional price – valid until December 31. Accessories can also be purchased individually if desired.

All 13 items listed in the accessories package can be purchased at Sime Darby AutoConneXion or SISMA Auto authorised dealerships. It will be fitted by trained technicians and all accessories except the paint job and off-road tyres, are covered with a warranty.

The guys at Land Rover should have used other tyre brand like TOYO instead of RADAR Renegade tyres. Those tyres are for Jeep. Real insult to Landies like me.
