Renault has announced that prices of its vehicles in Malaysia will remain unchanged for 2016 despite the unfavourable foreign exchange conditions that affect fully-imported (CBU) vehicles and components as well as increasing production costs.
Among Renault’s line-up of vehicles, only the Fluence is a locally-assembled (CKD) model. Available in two variants – Expression and Dynamique, prices for both are retained at RM108,888 and RM119,888, respectively (on-the-road without insurance, applicable to other models mentioned here too).
The announcement also provides the final pricing of the B-segment Renault Captur, which now carries a price tag of RM123,000. Under the hood of the crossover is a 1.2 litre TCe 120 turbocharged engine with 120 hp and 190 Nm. The car was first previewed back in July 2015, with prices estimated to start from RM118,000.
As for the recently-introduced Clio GT Line, the B-segment hatch still carries its RM118,000 price tag. The sibling to the hardcore Clio RS 200 sports a turbocharged 1.2 litre TCe 120 four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 118 hp and 190 Nm. Both the Captur and Clio GT Line are imported from Turkey and Spain, respectively.
The larger Koleos, a fully imported SUV from Korea is priced at RM178,888 for the two-wheel drive 2.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine variant. The mill provides 170 hp and 226 Nm, mated to a CVT with a six-speed shift mode. As for the track-focused Renault Megane RS variants, their prices remain unchanged as well. The Megane RS 265 Sport and Cup are priced at RM197,888 and RM234,888, individually.

Better to just close shop. Even in Europe, French cars are a disgrace. In Malaysia, Citroen, Peugeot and Renault try to price it at luxury levels. It is not luxury.
In Europe and in US, even Accord, Camry and Teana got more class and status than French cars.
Pls french distributors, don’t cheat Malaysians
dear idiot, the megane 265 is far from a disgrace. in fact, it is a favourite for motoring journalists. french cars had their dark days. but on good days they actually made pretty good cars. citroen DS, renault hot hatches etc. also, there is no teana in europe or us.
Better if proton close first
Nope. Moving coffin companies should close shop first
Please get your facts right before writing. They don’t sell Citroen, Peugeot or Renault in North America.
Japanese cars are relatively rare in Europe.
This is th best news because it mans the focus st facelift will have to be priced almost the same
Nobody bats an eyelid if u drive a brand new Renault..tats how bad and boring the overpriced cars are
