PETRONAS Dynamic Xperience – trying out the new and improved Dynamic Diesel fuel to Terengganu

Selected readers of paultan.org were recently invited to be part of the PETRONAS Dynamic Xperience drive event, where they were taken to Tanjong Jara, Terengganu to experience PETRONAS’ new and improved Dynamic Diesel fuel.

Following a presentation by representatives from PETRONAS, including fuel engineer Muhammad Hafiz Aziz, participants who drove pick-up trucks of various makes and models were flagged off from Sri Damansara to an off-road trail at the Jerangkang Waterfalls.

Members of the media also took part in the event, being behind the wheel of the all-new Nissan NP300 Navara, sponsored by Edaran Tan Chong Motor. At the Tanjong Jara Resort in Terengganu, participants and media took part in a casual feedback session before adjourning to a beach-side barbecue.

You can also check out highlights of the entire event via the video above and the gallery below.

Has the country’s national oil company come out with Euro 5 Diesel and Euro 5 petrol yet?

If not, when are they going to do so? You are the national oil company. you shoudl show and set an example first. You let foreign players introduce clean diesel? Tak malu ke? Always condemn Budaya Barat, always condemn Mat Salleh and all that but sendiri cannot show a good example by being first to introduce clean Euro 5 diesel.

Remember, it is your own rakyat that is suffering with dirty fumes in the air. Our Euro 2M is known as Euro 1.5. It is worse quality than Euro 2. Nevertheless, Euro 2 in Europe is categorized as so toxic and so lethal that they have said, it is as good as drinking Roundup everyday.

So Petronas, you tak ada malu ke? Your own people suffering with dirty fuel for years. When are you introducing clean petrol and diesel? you don’t have to wait for Government timeline which is 2020. Do it today!

        • Well, i will gip a lil bit of my grey matter to educate u just for this time.

Shell & BHP get their Euro5 stocks from SG refineries. Petronas cant do that for obvious reasons and they only can get it once Penggerang is completed. Only then, their RAPID project to upgrade to Euro5 and above can take off.

As to why it took so long, its been proven that MY consumers dun care what fuel as long as its cheap. But to get Euro 2-> 3-> 4-> 5, each of these requires increasingly more investment to improve the refining process. The move to Euro6 is another big technical & financial leap which i will save for another day. Anyway, if u ask majority MY pipu will they stump up to pay for each upgrade level (more expensive fuel), they will say: HELL NO! GIP ME MY EURO1 RM1.00 FUEL NOW!

But the world cant sit still and neither MY. So Najib, like it or not, have to upgrade the fuel level here otherwise lesser and lesser car brands will bring in their newer models. The only logical way to do it, is to setup Penggerang cuz the refineries at Kerteh is either too old/limited or available expansion is maxed out. Political decision to locate it in Johor notwithstanding.

Due to the economic downtime and cheap oil, the dateline for RAPID completion cud possibly be delayed, thereby oso delaying Petronas intro of their own Euro5 fuel. Unless they r willing to commit to their marketing deadline and get the E5 stocks from SG as well.

TLDR: until RAPID complete, Petronas wun come out with Euro5 fuel.

Euro 5 for what? Why the heck you want expensive fuel?

No extra power and no extra fuel save if use Euro 5. Whatever tiny emission you saved will be smashed by the Indon haze.

Be smart, don’t be a hipster.

PT sent out invitations to the famous John cause he is No 1 poster here. But he did not turn up. So, PT called him up that morning during the event, John answered the phone, “Saya masih tidur la bang. Tadi bangun, makan nasi lemak, gua balik tidur semula, letih. Kan saya tak berkerja, biasalah saya tidur sepanjang hari”
