The fasting month of Ramadan has started and Hari Raya is now just around the corner, which means that the annual balik kampung exodus will be happening soon. In conjunction with this, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) is organising its first road safety awareness campaign offering free 12-point inspection for all cars regardless of brands at selected Shell stations.

During the campaign period, which is from 29 May to 17 July, Hyundai technicians will be on standby from 10am till 5pm to conduct safety checks and advise car owners accordingly should there be issues or worn out parts that need replacement. Car owners will also be educated on safety measures and proper car maintenance.

“We hope our efforts will help curb the rising number of accidents especially on highways. Road accidents are caused by many factors which include human errors and recklessness but a lot of times it has to do with poor car maintenance as well. The most common cause of car skidding is due to worn out brake pads and tyres,” said Lau Yit Mun, MD of HSDM.

The HSDM team will be stationed at:

Shell NKVE (Lebuhraya Utara Selatan, KM15.8) – 29 May
Shell Sinaran Tuah Selatan (Batu 11, Lebuhraya Pontian-Johor Bahru) – 5 June
Shell Isfa Filling Station (Lebuhraya Sg Petani-Juru, KM141.8) – 12 June
Shell Merdeka Jayabumi Enterprise (Arah KL PLUS Mukim KM28.7 – near Jalan Duta Toll) – 17 July
