If you fancy dressing up your Proton Saga, Persona or Preve, then this will definitely be of interest. Local outfit TuneD has announced the debut of its first range of aftermarket bodykits and exclusive packages designed specifically to fit the three Proton models.
The company says its entry into this automotive market segment is aimed at offering new options for the local aftermarket enthusiast. Working on the concept basis of providing more “elegance” and introducing a “sportier” look, the add-on items bring about a new look to the exterior, led by design changes to the front/rear bumpers and side skirting.
The TuneD packaging also introduces – depending on the specified package – enhanced and upgraded convenience and safety features such as LED lighting, daytime running lights (DRL), push-start ignition, hood insulation and a new alloy wheel design.
According to TuneD, high consideration has been made during the R&D stage to match the existing original body design to the new aerodynamic elements. The interior has likewise been snazzed up, with new partial leather upholstery for the seats.
Completing the TuneD package is an exterior colour switch – there’s only one choice across the model board, the signature shade being called Fierce Red. All the TuneD cars – the Saga as well as the TuneD Persona and TuneD Preve – will also feature a blacked-out pillar treatment to offer a ‘floating roof’ look.
The TuneD programme offers three tailored packages (Standard, Executive and Premium), with the bodykit and special body colour being standard issue for all packages across the three model coverage range. For the new Saga, the Standard route adds LED DRLs, a shark fin antenna and four TuneD emblems.
The Executive package brings about partial leather upholstery, new soft-touch door trim covers and a new inner boot cover as well as hood insulation elements, and the Saga also gets new LED lighting for the headlamps (high/low beam and pilot) as well as rear garnish lights.
The Premium package adds on push-start ignition, keyless entry, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and high-performance tyres on top of that found on the Executive.
Pricing of the TuneD packages starts from RM5,000, with zero interest, easy-payment scheme instalments available for Maybank credit cards holders. The TuneD Proton kits are now open for booking, and the company says that in the coming future the TuneD programme will be extended to other vehicle makes and models from other OEMs.
